IMPORTANT TAX OFFICE CHANGES

Since the end of June 2010 the Tax Office (Hacienda) state, that any person(s) who has bought a property in Spain and has not made declarations in the Tax Office with payment of NON-RESIDENT taxes, will automatically be listed as a RESIDENT from the date of property purchase.

What does this mean?

This means that if you have a property in Spain, then you should at least pay Non-Resident taxes, unless you are a Resident, in which case you make normal income declarations.

If you already have the property, but has not paid Non-Resident tax, do it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to avoid future problems with the Hacienda.
